The
Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences at Duke
University trains environmental professionals who work to sustain
our environment. The school is an interdisciplinary hub, bringing
together science, law, business, medicine, and engineering. The faculty's
research expertise spans the atmosphere and oceans, the deep earth
and its surface, and living organisms. The Nicholas school draws on
the expertise of 53 core faculty members, 136 staff members, 201 professional
graduate students and 116 doctoral students. Nicholas School faculty
members conduct research across the United States as well as internationally
in locations such as Indonesia, Iraq, Mexico, Central and South American,
and tropical Africa.
