Emerging
Markets Group (EMG) is an international development consulting firm
with over 20 years of experience in successfully managing complex,
multi-year USAID projects, such as SEGIR Privatization II and SEGIR
Financial Services II, and providing technical assistance in the water
and power sectors. EMG's experience in Utilities and Infrastructure
Services includes identifying opportunities for private-sector participation,
designing public-private partnerships, developing legal and regulatory
frameworks, and performing sector assessments to increase the efficiency
of government services and state-owned utilities (thereby leveraging
government investment). EMG has also provided technical assistance
in Municipal Service Provision, helping local governments prioritize,
plan, finance, and provide basic services (such as power and water),
with a focus on long-term sustainability and service expansion. EMG
employs 150 people with experience in more than 30 countries.
