best serve its clients, Harza maintains offices in the U.S. and around
the world. Harza's available services include every phase of the development of a project: reconnaissance, feasibility studies and planning, design, contract documents, engineering services during construction, and start-up and operation. The firm has experience in providing single specialists for short-term expert services, as well as multidisciplinary teams for programs/projects up to 21 years in length. A full range of special services as Owner and Owner's Representative are provided for private power development including due diligence studies, owner's/engineer EPC, and advisory services for EPC contracts. Harza Engineering Company currently employs over 830 full-time personnel. Seventy-two percent of our personnel are professional engineers or specialists in the sciences. Among the total personnel, there are 254 masters and 36 doctorate degrees. Harza is fully staffed and has in-house capability in the disciplines required for each phase of engineering development. These disciplines include the traditional fields of civil, structural, geotechnical, sanitary, electrical, and mechanical engineering; agriculture, hydrology, geology, and environmental sciences; and resource economy, financial and permitting assistance, ecology, forestry, fish and wildlife, and soil conservation. COMPLETE INDEPENDENCE AND OWNERSHIP Harza is an independent consulting organization directed chiefly by engineers who are complemented by professionals in related fields. The Company has no affiliation, direct or indirect, with construction companies, equipment manufacturers, government agencies or financial institutions. It is Harza's conviction that complete independence is requisite for service devoted to the client's maximum benefit. Harza is entirely owned by its officers, associates, and professional employees; the Board of Directors is elected from the officer group. Harza Engineering Company is a multi-discipline engineering consulting
firm established in 1920 with its headquarter office in Chicago, Illinois,
U.S.A. The Water & Environment unit provides planning, design, construction,
and operation and maintenance for water and environmental projects
addressing the need for sanitary drinking water and safe wastewater
disposal practices throughout the world; and management and disposal
of industrial, hazardous, and solid wastes.
Foreign
assignments represent nearly 50% of Harza's yearly revenues. The firm
has worked in over 100 countries around the globe on a broad range
of projects. Assignments include development and control of water
resources for electrical power, irrigation, flood control, land reclamation,
water supply, and pollution abatement; and design of waste management
facilities, municipal engineering, and wastewater treatment. In addition,
the firm is actively engaged in engineering consulting and design
for power generation, electric power transmission and distribution,
telecommunications, underground excavation, agriculture, transportation,
highways, roadways and bridges, industrial and municipal solid disposal,
services to the mining industries, and a variety of other specialized
fields.
